Thai Chef would have to be one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Adelaide. It’s a combination of things that make this place great; the unassuming, yet well presented decor, the super friendly staff and great service, and of course, the delicious authentic Thai food. Adelaide Food Central got a sneak peak of some their dishes on the new Summer menu. All food and drink were provided free of charge.
As a starter, I had their signature Stuffed Chicken Wings. Beneath the golden brown crunchy exterior was a moist, succulent filling of chicken, pork, carrot and glass noodles. Well seasoned and full of flavour, this dish work well with the sweet chilli dipping sauce.
Next was the Spicy Squid and Prawn Thai Salad. New to the menu, this dish is guaranteed to liven things up. Generous amounts of perfectly cooked squid and prawn are present throughout this dish. The minced pork soaks up the delicious sweet and spicy Thai dressing, and the peanuts added a lovely crunchy texture. Refreshing and spicy would be sum up this dish.
The main was the Prawn Pad Thai. The noodles were firm and not too oily, while the prawns were juicy and well cooked. The bean sprouts and peanuts added a lovely crunchy texture. The fried egg was evenly distributed, and the colours and flavours were on point.
Thai Chef is simply an outstanding restaurant. I’ve been here on 3 occasions and I’ve never had a bad experience. While I only had enough to room to try some of their new Summer menu, I certainly look forward to coming back and trying some more. Adelaide Food Central would like to thank the staff at Thai Chef for their kind hospitality.
