Tucked away in an alley on Jetty Road, Brighton is a brand new cafe called C.R.E.A.M. (Coffee Rules Everything Around Me). Open during the day, they have a gourmet breakfast and brunch menu that consists of 15 offerings. The most interesting item that I could see was the Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich. Apart from that, they also sell a selection of smoothie bowls, sandwiches and snacks.

For lunch, I ordered the Mediterranean style bruschetta with diced capsicum, olives, salami and Swiss mushrooms. The presentation was average, but about as good as a bruschetta can look. I found the dish to be very salty, mainly due to the salami and olives. A very simple dish with an ingredient combination that wasn’t to my liking.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed, even though there wasn’t a spare seat in the house. The cost of the bruschetta was $11 which is on par with other cafes. Breakfast and brunch options start at $7 and go all the way up to $24 for the Ploughman’s Brunch.

I have a habit of ordering the dish a place does least well. That may have been the case today. I might have to give this place another go later on.
