Bona Food originated as an independent recipe magazine focused on plant based whole foods. At the same time, it highlighted local suppliers that engaged in organic, ethical and wholesome practices. The advertising of The Market Shed on Holland within the magazine lead to the creation of the Wholefoods Bar, which is their main point of sale. The wholefoods bar consists of local seasonal organic produce and certified organic toppings which are mixed and matched with their breakfast and lunch offerings. They even have a smoothie bar if you’re looking for a more lighter option.

Seating is limited inside the store but there are plenty of places to sit down within The Market Shed itself.

For breakfast, I ordered the Acai Bowl which was a freshly blended mix of banana, berries, fresh orange juice and acai. The slightly tart but sweet flavour of the acai blend was complimented by the natural sweetness of the persimmon, pomegranate and banana. The muesli provided a nice crunchy texture which was in contrast to the silky smooth acai blend.

The staff were friendly and the service was very good. An Acai Bowl will set you back $12 which is very reasonable. Not only was it beautifully presented, the serving size was generous, the dish was healthy, and it tasted great.
I was thoroughly impressed with this place and will definitely be back again. This is the go-to place when you’re visiting The Market Shed on Holland.
