The Coffee Club has been around for over 25 years with more than 360 cafes throughout 9 countries. The Marion store is located inside the Westfield shopping complex at the base of the cinemas. Known for their all day breakfast menu, they also have a selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads and sweets.
For lunch, I ordered the Gourmet Beef Burger which contains tomato, Spanish onion, lettuce, cheese and herb aioli. The burger was ready after a 15 minute wait and was nicely presented on a rectangular white plate.
The beef pattie was well seasoned and juicy, and the meat was well refined. A generous amount of cheese was melted over the top of the pattie which held all the ingredients together. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the tomato was ripe and juicy. The Spanish onion wasn’t over powering, and the star of the show, the herb aioli, gave this burger plenty of depth.
The staff were friendly and the service was above average. Half way through my first burger, I found a strand of fibre. When one of the waitresses noticed me analysing my meal, she took it back to the kitchen and arranged for a new one to be made. The location of this store is in a main thoroughfare, so with the sheer numbers of people walking past, the atmosphere can be a bit vibrant. The cost of the burger was $14.90 which is on par with other cafes.
For a chain that is found just about everywhere, I was surprised that they could make a decent burger (well, at the Marion store anyway).
