Fat Chicken – Plympton

Every suburb in Adelaide has at least one local Chicken shop. For Plympton, it’s the Fat Chicken franchise, which is located in a small complex on Anzac Highway. The menu is fairly stock standard with chickens, burgers, seafood, salads and hot packs.

The chicken shop is more spacious than some of the others. It has a nice wide frontage with plenty of seating both inside and out.

For lunch, I ordered the Chicken AB. The meal was ready after a 10 minute wait and had good presentation. The chicken was well marinated, tender and succulent, and there was a good proportion of chips to meat. The chips were of a thin variety and were nice and crunchy. The garlic sauce had a nice thick consistency and the amount of sauce was generous.

The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Unlike my last AB, I had to make do with a flimsy plastic fork which did its job. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing is on par with other chicken shops. The large Chicken AB set me back $14.90, which is fairly average. The quality of the ingredients was very good and the serving size was sufficient to keep you going throughout the day.

One of the better chicken shops around.
