Small Batch is a stall in The Market Shed on Holland and is the first place to the right as you enter the shed. If you go by their name, you would presume that coffee is their specialty, however, they do have a small range of breakfast offerings, 5 to be exact.

For breakfast, I ordered the Organic Egg and Bacon Toastie. The meal was ready 10 minutes after ordering and was nicely presented. The fried egg was cooked sunny side up, and it was nice to have the runny yolk mix in with all the other ingredients. The rocket was fresh and crisp, while the tomato relish had a lovely sweetness. I thought the bacon could have been fried more, particularly if you’re going to include the fatty parts. The bread contained wholegrain, which is a real pain to eat when toasted.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was vibrant with hoards of people lining up to get their morning food and coffee fix. The cost of the breakfast was $9.50 which is fairly average.
