A sign of a good place is a constant flow of customers throughout the day, where getting a seat can often prove difficult. This pretty much sums up the Mediterranean which is located on the beachside suburb of Glenelg South. The menu is fairly extensive and offers a good selection of pizzas, pastas, meat and seafood dishes.

The decor is modern with nice clean lines. The open plan dining area can easily seat over 100, and it blends well with the outdoor area. Set on a nice corner position, there is plenty of natural light coming from both it’s frontages.

For lunch, I ordered the Mediterranean House Burger. The meal came out after a 15 minute wait and was nicely presented. Consisting of two meat patties, it was of a generous size that would have satisfied most appetites. The patties were well marinated, however, slightly over cooked. The cheese was perfectly melted over the meat, while the tomato and lettuce were fresh and crisp. The caramelised onion had a lovely natural sweetness which was complemented by the subtle saltiness of the lean crispy bacon. The burger was not greasy, and neither was the side of golden crunchy medium cut chips.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was average. The cost of the burger was $18.90 which is on par with other pubs and cafes.
