Fleurieu Bites is run by a husband and wife chef team that are committed to providing locally sourced, fresh, healthy and handcrafted food. Open throughout the day, except on Sundays, this place serves wholesome healthy breakfasts and lunches. On top of that, there are house made cakes and desserts, as well as a selection of beverages. This includes single origin and ethically produced coffee and Fleurieu flavoured milks.

This quaint little store seats about 20 on the inside and further 10 out on the footpath. The combination of cafe style chairs, deck chairs and bench seating gives this place a sort of rustic feel. There is plenty of natural light flowing through the frontage which makes this place light and airy.

Today, I ordered the Raspberry and Coconut Tart. The lightly browned coconut shavings had a hauntingly nutty taste. This was complemented by the natural sweetness of the raspberry jam and the delicate crumbly base of the tart.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was good. The cost of the tart was $4.80 which is less than that you’d pay elsewhere, but more importantly, it looked healthy and tasted good.
I look forward to sampling some of their other offerings.
