Veloce Paninoteca CBA

There are 4 Veloce Paninoteca stores across the state with 2 on King William Street in the city. The most recent addition is the one in the Commonwealth Bank building. Coffee is their specialty and they only use 100% Arabica beans that are roasted to perfection. To compliment their beverages, they have a selection of breakfast options, breads, schiacciatas (flat breads), paninis, waffles, pancakes, gelati and sweets.

Today, I ordered their Cannoli. The filling is a combination of ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, cinnamon and all spice mixed in with cream. It had a thick consistency and was smooth in texture. There were a few pieces of lemon zest to add contrast to the sweetness. The cannoli shell was of a nice shape, however, it wasn’t as crispy as I had expected. The powdered sugar on top added extra sweetness and texture to the exterior. Ideally, the cannoli shells should be filled with cream just before you eat them and this wasn’t the case.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The Cannoli set me back $3.90 which is probably a fair price.
