La Vita Ristorante

I’ve driven past this place so many times and I always notice that their carpark is full. I took this as a good sign and it became one of my places to check out. The venue itself is deceptively large. From the street frontage, the place looks small, but when you walk into the place, you realise it could fit easily over a 100. They also have an outdoor dining area, but when we there, it was full of smokers. The decor is very neat and casual. The place is full of cafe style furnishings and the flooring consists of large diagonally laid porcelain tiles. The menu has all your traditional Italian favourites and is really no different to what you get at some of those franchised cafe stores.

Today, I ordered the Speciale Pizza. All the pizzas here are 10 inch. The meal came out after a 15 minute wait and all meals arrived the same time. The presentation of the pizza was quite good, however, the amount of cheese was quite conservative and most of it was under the topping. The quality of the ingredients was quite good. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and there was a generous amount of topping. The pizza base had a nice consistency throughout and the crust was firm but not too hard. It was a pretty good pizza.

My friend had the Pollo Parmigiana and had no complaints. I thought the serving size of her dish was a bit small considering the cost was just under $24.

The staff were friendly, and the service was average. The waiters were quite attentive at the beginning but then the drinks took a bit long to arrive and the service kind of dropped off. The atmosphere was relaxed, even with a full house. I think the pricing here is a little bit more expensive than similar places. My pizza was just under $18  for a 10 inch. Other stores would given me a 12 inch for that price. With all that being said, the pizza was quite good and the quality of the ingredients was quite noticeable.

I’d actually come back this place. Slightly more expensive than other Italian cafes, but the quality is worth it.
