I’ve been to the Swedish Tarts store down at Henley Beach so I pretty much knew what to expect. Personally, I think the Semaphore store is in a much better location. It’s amongst the hustle and bustle of the busy Semaphore Road cafe precinct and the place itself is a bit larger. Like their other stores, they sell organic coffee, breakfast and lunch and a range of sweet and savoury treats.
Today, I ordered their French Walnut Coffee Tart. The tarts that they sell here aren’t perfectly created as you would expect, in fact, they look more home made. In most cases, the edges on the shortbread pastry casing was chipped around the edges. The tart itself was quite delicious. The filling had a strong coffee flavour with a subtle sweetness. The walnuts mixed inside the filling provided a nice crunchy texture. The pastry shell was quite delicate and easy to break apart.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed in this busy beachside location and the pricing of their sweets was reasonable. The $3.80 price tag for my slice was on par with other cafes selling similar products.
Not a bad place for a sweet treat, although I still need to come back here for a meal.
