Low & Slow American BBQ

I’m a fan of American fast food, so when I saw a food truck that satisfied my inner most cravings, I was lining up without hesitation. On this occasion, they were parked outside the Wheatsheaf Hotel. What better way to drum up business than to park outside a pub that doesn’t serve food.

Tonight, I ordered the Pulled Pork Plate. The dish was ready in less than 10 minutes and could best be described as a deconstructed pork burger. The pork was well flavoured, and soft and stringy. The onion rings were made from red onion, and were a little on the bland side. The coleslaw was pretty good. It contained cabbage, red onion, apple and pork! That’s right! A salad with meat in it. This is the way all salads should be.

At $11, it wasn’t a bad feed. In fact, I’d say it was pretty good coming from a food truck. Definitely worth checking out if they’re driving around in your area.
