Plant 13

Located in the outskirts of the city, Plant 13 offers American inspired modern Australian cuisine. The décor is simple yet stylish, and the atmosphere is a relaxed one, as the venue is located away from the hustle and bustle of city living.

The menu here is an interesting one. Printed on a piece of paper are ellipses of three sizes with descriptions of the menu items written inside. The large ellipses represented mains, the medium ellipses indicated entrée size portions and the small ellipses were basically sides.

For breakfast, I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. The meal arrived 15 minutes after ordering and was nicely presented. The pastry on top was nice and flaky, and the colour was a beautiful golden brown. The chicken filling was tender and succulent, and the taste reminded me of a Vili’s Chicken Pie. The depth of the dish was quite deceiving though as the amount of filling was quite conservative in the end.

The staff here were very friendly and the service was above average. The price point was a bit on the expensive side, but the presentation and the meal quality were of a high standard. At the end of my meal, I wasn’t hungry nor was I too full. This is the way it should be at the end of every meal.

The chefs know what they’re doing at this place. The emphasis on style, presentation and quality is very apparent. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back.
