Daily Choice is a food outlet in the Southern Cross food court. Their specialty is Vietnamese Rolls, but they also sell other dishes.
Today, I decided to try their Roast Pork Vietnamese Roll.
ROAST PORK – Not the best roast pork I’ve ever tasted, but not the worst either. The pork was half lean and half fatty, but the skin wasn’t crunchy at all. The meat was well marinated and there was a generous amount provided.
BREAD – The bread wasn’t crusty as I usually like it, but a bit too firm. The bread was strong enough to hold all the ingredients but at the same time required a lot of chewing effort.
VEGETABLES – I loved how they give you the option of fresh chili in their Vietnamese rolls. It certainly livens things up. The coriander and cucumber were fresh. They went a little overboard with the pickled carrot. They gave me the option of lettuce, but I wasn’t going to put that into my roll!
CONDIMENTS – This place uses butter instead of egg mayonnaise. Fail!
The staff were really friendly and the price was more than reasonable. My Roast Pork Vietnamese Roll was OK, but it could have been so much better.
