On a street not known for it’s cafes, Adelaide’s newest eatery has just opened its doors. Public on Franklin is run by a husband and wife team and has been six months in the making. Located on the ground floor of a newly developed office block on Flinders Street, this store offers food with a Mediterranean influence. The desserts on display also look impressive and are definitely worth trying. The decor is sleek and chic, with the high ceilings and natural light creating a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the service is exceptional.
Today, I ordered the Wagyu Burger. The meal arrived not long after ordering and was served on a wooden chopping board. The Wagyu pattie was lean, well marinated and about an inch thick, which was more than enough to satisfy a lunchtime appetite. The vegetables were fresh and crispy, and the caramelised onion was a perfect golden brown. The lime mayonnaise added a zest to what was a fantastic combination. The chips were nice and thick, and perfectly cooked. Crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The meal was beautifully presented and satisfying.

For dessert, I ordered the Lemon Cheesecake. While I generally prefer baked cheesecakes, this was still pretty good in its own right. The cream cheese was smooth and velvety. The sponge cake was soft and delicate. Combined with the zesty lemon jelly exterior and the chocolate shards, the dessert itself was one to remember.

I quite enjoyed my meal at this place. The service, quality and atmosphere were all good. Public on Franklin is open from Monday to Fridays, and is available for private functions on weekends. Definitely check this place out!
