I’ve been to the Strath so many times and for so many different reasons. Being a stone throw away from where I work, I’ve had dozens of farewell drinks, as well as many company paid lunches here. The location is convenient, particularly for my friends who have to catch the train home after a boozy night.
The decor is modern with warehouse style influences, and the service is pretty good. The pub is well known for their Stone Grill steaks. I believe it’s only one of three places in Adelaide where you get to cook your food on the patented stones. The food prices are on par with other pubs, but when you use the Entertainment Book voucher, the meals are more than reasonable.
Today, I ordered the Angus Beef Burger, which is probably their best value meal as it only costs $10 and comes with a drink. The burger came out 20 minutes after ordering and all meals came out at the same time. The beef patty was perfectly cooked and of an appropriate size and thickness. The bacon was crunchy and fried until the fatty bits became crispy, just the way I like it.
The vegetables in the salad were fresh and crispy. The beer battered chips were cooked perfectly; crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The quality of the chips were OK, although I don’t like to see too many crunchy bits on my plate.

I’ve had many wonderful memories (and nights that I’ve later remembered through photographic evidence) at this place. The service is good and the atmosphere is relaxed during the day. It can get quite noisy on a Friday or Saturday night, but that’s how most pubs get during those times. I think this place is definitely worth a visit!
