It is with great excitement and anticipation that Varney Wines are set to reopen their iconic McLaren Vale venue as a premium Wine Tasting Room.

The historic 1870’s limestone barn will house the revamped Tasting Room, offering an intimate wine tasting experience set within its wine retail space. With a strong emphasis on providing exceptional service, the hosted experience is available for up to 6 guests per tasting. All Varney Wines are also available to enjoy by the glass in the lovely surrounds, while taking in the breath-taking views over the Onkaparinga Gorge.

The Tasting Room is a labour of love for owners, Alan Varney and Kathrin Dressler, who have spent the last decade restoring the heritage barn and building their environmentally sensitive winery alongside the historic site. The venue allows guests to be taken on the Varney Wines journey, where the family shares the story from vineyards to winery, detailing the work and passion that goes into each bottle.

With the working winery integrated into the design of the Tasting Room, visitors are given a unique opportunity to experience the day-to-day operations of Varney Wines. For the enjoyment and safety of all guests the Tasting Room is an 18+ venue.

Varney Wines are also pleased to announce the recent launch of their Wine Club, Vino Varney. Membership gives access to great savings, exclusive access to new release wines, VIP invitations, and much more.

Varney Wines is open 10am to 4pm, Friday – Sunday and Selected Public Holidays.

The new Tasting Room is opening Saturday the 23rd of September.
