While Adelaideans have always been acutely aware of how great our state is, it is only relatively recently that the rest of the world has caught on. With an increasing number of big and silver screen productions commencing in South Australia, it’s not surprising that demand in our arts industry has grown exponentially.
Thanks to Renew Adelaide, freelance Digital Artist Darcy Holmes has launched ACOLAB, a motion capture company aimed at entry level production studios. Developing the method without a need for body suits, Holmes explains that his business greatly increases accessibility for smaller studios to incorporate the technique into their work.
Sharing his current workspace with fellow native companies Golden Age Studios and Melonhead Games, Holmes is currently focusing his efforts on the local short film and gaming market, as well as a project with Fringe show “The End is High-Concept”. With this amazing technology at our fingertips, it would hardly be surprising to see this local company extend their reach to larger ventures in the very near future. This won’t be the last you hear from ACOLAB.
