Global premium burger chain Carl’s Jr. continues to expand its footprint in Australia thanks to an exclusive agreement signed by Agostino Group and Carl’s Jr. Restaurants LLC. The Group will have the exclusive license to open Carl’s Jr. restaurants in both South Australia and the Northern Territory; their first restaurant is set to open in Mount Barker at the AMPM service station complex on July 22nd at 8:30am, with a second opening planned towards the end of the year.
To celebrate the arrival of Carl’s Jr. in this region, the Mount Barker restaurant will give away “A Year’s Worth of Free Burgers” to the first 50 people through the door on opening day.
“People lined up 24-hours before the first Carl’s Jr. opened in Bateau Bay last year and we’re excited to keep that momentum going with the opening of two new restaurants in South Australia this year,” stated Frank Agostino, Managing Director of Agostino Group. “The Carl’s Jr. brand is still relatively new in Australia and we look forward to offering South Australians a taste of their authentic, premium burgers and world class service.”
Carl’s Jr. delivers affordable, premium-quality and made fresh-to-order QSR menu selections served with partial table service. All Carl’s Jr. restaurants in Australia offer an innovative menu, including the brand’s signature line of 100% Angus Beef Thickburgers served on fresh baked brioche-style buns, Hand Breaded Chicken Tenders and Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes. The Mount Barker restaurant will also offer a breakfast menu including a range of Big Brekkie Sandwiches, served on a fresh baked bun and The Breakfast Burger, served all day.
Carl’s Jr.’s new approach to advertising focuses on their bona fides – great food and service. While still unapologetic, the burger is the hero with the emphasis on quality ingredients, authentic preparations and handmade American Classics. The Mount Barker location will be the first restaurant to open in Australia following this approach and a large US contingent will be visiting Adelaide to attend the launch and experience all that South Australia has to offer.
“Australia is an important expansion market for Carl’s Jr. and we believe that our first-rate, innovative menu items, along with our best-in-class customer service and celebrated advertising approach, is a perfect fit for Australia’s youthful culture,” said Ned Lyerly, President, International at CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc.
Adelaide and Mount Barker residents won’t only benefit from the new burger offering. With the opening of the new restaurant, over 55 full time and part time staff will be employed, in addition to the contractors employed during the construction phase. In 2017, unemployment rates in South Australia have been the worst in the country and the unemployment rate in the District Council of Mount Barker is higher still at 7.64%. All new Carl’s Jr. Mount Barker staff reside in Mount Barker or surrounding regional area with a wide range of ages.
Carl’s Jr. Mount Barker is open everyday from 6am-midnight.
