Spice Shots is an Indian restaurant way out east in Magill. This quaint little place seats about 32 and has quite an extensive menu. The offerings are divided into entrees, sizzling tandoori dishes and all your common proteins. They’ve even thrown in a street food section as well as the chef’s signature dishes. There’s so much to choose from, there’s something for everyone.
We start off with the Death by Cheese Naan. The naan bread is cooked in a tandoor and comes to your table piping hot. It was light and airy, and was filled with an impressive 8 cheeses. This one dish alone will sort out all your calcium needs.
For the main, we had the Baghare Coorong Beef Cheeks. We were amazed by a beef cheek curry we recently had at a Thai restaurant and this was just as good. The meat was tender and succulent, and the curry sauce had just the right amount of kick. A hotter option is available for the adventurous.
For dessert, we had the Pistachio and Cardamon Kulfi. The home made ice cream was smooth and creamy, and not overly sweet. It was a perfect way to end the meal.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and we’ve never felt so comfortable. The service was great with the food coming out rather promptly. The restaurant has two frontages which allows plenty of natural light to flow through, making the atmosphere very relaxing. The average price of a main is $15 which represents good value for money. If you’re in the area, Spice Shot is worth a shot!
Spice Shot is open everyday from 5pm to late.
