Everybody knows the health benefits of drinking tea, and for a long time, T Bar have given us plenty of choice with over 120 blends and varieties to choose from. With super foods currently trending at the moment, the brains behind T Bar have come up with something new, King Coconut Water and Iced Tea. It combines two of the world’s super foods into one bottle; the Sri Lankan King Coconut and the Ceylon black and green teas. Completely natural, and free of artificial flavours and preservatives, the drink is light and refreshing on it’s own, or can be made into a delicious cocktail.

Of course, a beverage launch wouldn’t be complete without food. The Fruit and Cheese Platter was a great way to start off proceedings. My personal favourite was the blue cheese.

Next was the Chargrilled Prawn Salad. The prawns were tender and succulent, and had lovely chargrilled flavours. The delicate nature of the prawns were balanced by the crunchy texture of the salad.

Vegetarians don’t miss out either with the Roast Pumpkin and Quinoa Salad. The quinoa was soft and moist, and was given more depth from the natural sweetness of the pumpkin.

The Duck Pies were sourced from Eire Cafe, one of my favourite cafes in Adelaide. Inside the golden brown pastry was well seasoned duck meat in thick rich gravy. Absolutely delicious!

The Meatballs were just as tasty. These plump, juicy, well seasoned meatballs had a dense and spongy texture. They were savoury and hearty, and oozing goodness with every bite.

The Soft Shell Sliders were so good, I couldn’t resist having more than one. The lightly battered soft shell crab provided a delightfully crunchy texture. Complimented by the fresh crisp vegetables and soft spongy bread, I could have ate these all night.

For dessert, we had the house-made Coconut Infused Meringues. This was simply amazing! Light and airy in texture, it was very similar to eating honeycomb.

With all the delicious food aside, let’s not forget the reason for the event, the launch of the King Coconut Water and Iced Tea. It combines two super foods to create a light and refreshing drink. Of course, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can combine the tea with alcohol and turn it into a cocktail.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the T Bar team for putting on such a great show as I wasn’t sure what to expect on the night. Combining refreshing (and alcoholic) tea with delicious food was always going to be a recipe for success. An enjoyable evening was had by all.
