Crave 443 – Revisit

With so many eateries in Adelaide, and many new ones opening, it’s very rare for me to visit the same place twice. I’ve already eaten at Crave when it first opened and I was impressed by the burger I had at the time. Keen to prove that they’re not just about burgers, Adelaide Food Central was invited to sample some of their pizza, which was provided free of charge.

Upon my arrival, I was told they’d just implemented a new dough recipe with ingredients imported from Italy. Combine this with locally sourced gourmet toppings and they believe they’ve got something special. There are 10 gourmet pizzas to choose from, available in 12 and 15 inch diameters. I struggle to make a decision, but in the end I chose the Prawns, Tomato, Feta, Rocket, Chilli and Garlic pizza.

A good 15 minutes later, the pizza arrives nicely presented on a white patterned plate. The pizza base is light and airy with a slightly thicker crust. The prawns are juicy and succulent, and the natural sweetness of the tomato is well balanced by the saltiness of the feta. The rocket is nice and crisp and their are subtle hints of garlic. It’s a well executed pizza with ingredients that work in harmony.

I’m pleased to say that their pizzas are just as good as their burgers. As I said in my previous review, they’re well worth a visit if you’re in the southern end of the city.
