A Cafe Etc is located towards the end of Jetty Road in Brighton. They offer a decent selection of meals which include baguettes, foccacias, bagels, salads, crepes, pizzas, and a breakfast menu. For those with a sweet tooth, they also have a small selection of sweets on display.

The use of timber is quite prominent in this place, particularly with the flooring and furnishings. Seating is both plentiful inside and out, and there is plenty of natural light that flows through it’s frontage.

Anybody that loves Marilyn Monroe should seriously come to this place. From the mural on one of the main walls to the numerous framed pictures, this place is wall to wall Marilyn.

Today, I ordered the Raspberry Friand which is a small French cake made from almond flour, egg whites, butter and powdered sugar. It’s baked in small moulds and typically oval in shape. The cake had a rather thick dense texture and was nice and crumbly. The raspberry topping added a nice subtle sweetness.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was reasonable. The cost of the Raspberry Friand was $3.80 which is on par with other cafes that sell sweet little delicacies.

While I’ve read some negative reviews about this place, it always seems to be a full house, so they’re certainly doing something right.
