Bull Creek Bakery is a traditional wood oven bakery located at a farm in the Adelaide Hills. Their offerings consist of 5 types of pies, 3 types of bread and Portuguese custard tarts. Their products are found at various markets each weekend as well as a select few businesses. All the beef and vegetables used in their pies are grown on their farm.

For lunch, I ordered a Tasty Roast Chicken Pie. The pie that I received wasn’t perfectly formed, however, the top was nice and flakey. The crust was firm and strong enough to hold all of the filling.

The filling was absolutely superb. The gravy was nice and thick with tender succulent morsels of chicken and a colourful array of soft delicate vegetables. The filling had plenty of depth and balance, and it was so good, I was gladly licking the gravy off my fingers.

All the pies were $5 each which is fair value. Other places charge a bit more but you do get salad. The pie itself was really good and I look forward to trying some of the other varieties on offer.
