I find the food truck concept very appealing, especially when you have a variety of food products that can be prepared on or off site and then sold on the day. There’s no rental costs, the utilities would be cheaper and you can move your business to different locations.

The Little Cake Tin is one of the newer food trucks to hit the scene. Only 6 months old, this business is run by two mothers who are passionate about food and event styling. They’ve taken a 1950’s caravan from the scrap heap and gave it a professional restoration which is quite appealing.
On display in their caravan are a selection of delicious cakes and sweets which are home made and use only the freshest and best local ingredients.

Today, I ordered the Strawberry Creme Fraiche Cheesecake which was elegantly presented in a square plastic cup.
The dessert is essentially made up of 3 layers; the top being a mixture of creme fraiche, cream cheese and strawberries, the middle layer consisting of creme fraiche, cream cheese and vanilla extract and the bottom layer being crushed biscuits.
I can’t believe something so simple tastes so good!

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The cost of the cheesecake was $5 which was reasonable considering it was delicious and satisfying. All the sweets that they sell are between $5-$6 which is probably what you’d pay at a cafe anyway.
I can’t believe something so good came from a food truck! I look forward to trying some of their other products in the future.
