Zouki cafe is a chain that is found in many of the major hospitals in the eastern states. The Adelaide store is found at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on Frome Road. This place offers a variety of hot dishes as well as salads, sushi, sandwiches, soups, pastries, yoghurts, sweets and coffee. The cafe itself is modern and elegant in design, and it’s reminiscent of being in a modern day glass house.

As a snack, I ordered their Cherry Chocolate Cupcake. The cupcake was rather small, and at $4 a pop, I thought it was overpriced. As for the taste, it was dry, and the icing on top was firm and full of artificial colouring.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the pricing ranges from average to above average depending on what you get. The cupcake I had wasn’t fresh and it wasn’t worth the money I paid for it.

Verdict: There are so many better choices nearby on Rundle Street.
