Dough is a bakery located in right in the heart of the Adelaide Central Markets. They’re known for their breads, cakes, pastries, tarts and assortment of sweets.
Today, I ordered their Carrot Cake with a Cream Cheese and Crushed Walnut Icing. This classic cake was beautifully presented and well executed. The cake had a firm exterior yet the inside was soft and moist. I liked the fact that you could see grated carrot pieces inside the cake. The combination of butter, icing sugar and cream cheese was just right with the icing. The icing was smooth and creamy in texture, with the cream cheese component being slightly greater, making it less sweet. The walnuts provided a nice crunchy texture to balance things out.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. Eating your purchases in store is not possible as there are no seats, but that would explain why their pricing is better. Carrot Cake was $3 which represented good value. The experience was certainly a good one and I will be back to try some of their tarts.
