As crazy as it sounds, I popped in to the Big Table with a friend on a Saturday morning at 7am before a wine tour. Surprisingly enough, their main tables, as well as the bar area in front of the counter, were already occupied with customers. Their menu is fairly standard with the exception of their Green Eggs and Ham dish.
Today, I ordered the Green Eggs and Ham. This consisted of scrambled eggs with parsley pesto, prosciutto and 2 slices of toasted sourdough. The dish was ready 15 minutes after ordering and was nicely presented. The serving size was huge! I reckon there were at least 5 or 6 eggs in my dish. The eggs were perfectly scrambled and the parsley pesto added a nice herby flavour to the dish. The rocket and prosciutto were fresh, and the toasted sourdough had a generously unhealthy amount of butter on it. While I managed to finish this dish, I really didn’t need to eat lunch.

The staff were really friendly, and the service was really good. The atmosphere was quite relaxed at this particular time of the morning when everyone was still in bed. The pricing is on par with other breakfast places, but considering the serving size, the place represents good value for money. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional and my meal was delicious. They really know what they’re doing in the kitchen at this place.
A place you definitely need to visit for breakfast. Highly recommended!
