I was so impressed with the Taste Baguette Rundle Street store, I couldn’t wait to see what their Adelaide University store was like. Located inside Hub Central, this particular store is a bit more spacious, and I was delighted to see that their pricing was a bit lower. While Hub Central appears to be a huge study area, seating can be a problem, particularly during the lunch hour rush.
Today, I ordered the Classic Vietnamese baguette. Like their sister store, the baguette was ready within 5 minutes of ordering. Unfortunately, this wasn’t as impressive as my most recent experience. The baguette was served in a paper bag instead of an impressive wooden chopping board. The bread was nice and crusty, but it wasn’t fresh out of the oven. The salad was fresh and it had processed Asian meats that weren’t particularly lean. They also went overboard with the soy sauce as the end of my baguette was really soggy.

The staff were friendly, and the service was fast and efficient. The pricing was really good, however the meal itself was a let down. I think it might be a case of what you order and who makes your baguette, that determines your experience.
