Cherry Blossom is a small store located just outside Adelaide University on Pulteney Street. This particular store has a bit more variety than the other stores. They sell your usual sushi, sushi packs, udon noodles and bento boxes. The store itself is quite small with seating only available for 14.

Today, I decided to order the Cherry Blossom Special Bento Box. The box was ready within 10 minutes of ordering and was nicely presented. The amount of chicken provided was generous, however the meat was slightly overcooked. They also used chicken thigh which wasn’t to my liking. You could also see the grease build up on the lettuce leaf the chicken was sitting on. The rice was beautifully cooked with firm individual grains.

The hygiene at this place is questionable. The bench I was sitting at was greasy and I simply refused to make any contact with the table. The service, on the other hand, was fast and efficient, and the staff were really friendly. The pricing is slightly cheaper than other places that sell bento boxes, and the atmosphere was quite relaxed. It was so calming to sit by the bench window and watch the passers by being soaked by the winter rain.

This place was OK for me.
