Gloria Jeans is an American franchised coffee store that is now equally as popular in Australia than it is in the States. I’ve walked past Gloria Jeans on Hindley Street on many occasions and I’ve always had my eye on their New York cheesecake. Today, I lost all self control and bought a slice.

The cheesecake itself was really good. It was baked, and was nice and delicate. The biscuit base was more moist than expected. It had a subtle sweetness which made you feel less guilty.

The staff here were really friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. The cheesecake was under $5 which is only second on the pricing scale to McDonald’s. Not a bad place for a quick sugar fix. Pity about the added protein!
