Thai Cuisine is a take away food outlet in the Myer Centre food court. Normally, you can only get Thai food from a restaurant or a cafe, but never from a food court. This particular store is interesting because it is run by the same staff from the Asian Delights food outlet next door. When I arrived, there were no store attendants at Thai Cuisine, and then magically a staff member from Asian Delights went through a rear door and appeared at the Thai place.
Today, I ordered the Massaman Beef and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. The presentation was pretty good for take away food; usually they just slop the food on top of the plate. The Massaman Beef was really ordinary. The meat was fatty and over cooked. It was almost as though the beef was sliced with the grain, making it very difficult to eat. The flavours were right but the execution wasn’t. The Teriyaki Chicken wasn’t too bad. The chicken was nice and tender, and the chicken skin had a beautiful glaze. The teriyaki sauce has a nice subtle sweetness. The Fried Rice was ordinary. The rice was dry and the peas in the rice tasted raw.

For me, the Massaman Beef here was disappointing. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for here. I think it’s worth paying a little bit more for better quality dishes somewhere nicer.
