Burger Foundry is a small little burger joint down Magill Road. This is not really a dine-in store as you could barely have 12 people eat here. I saw one couple share a table of 4 with a complete stranger just so they could get a seat. The decor is a bit to be desired as well. There was an overhanging storage cabinet right over where we were sitting which was a bit of a health hazard. I like to think they were too busy perfecting their burgers to worry about anything else.
Tonight, we decided to share burgers amongst ourselves. I decided to try the Texan Madness and Blue Moon beef burgers. We also got a serving of fries and a milk shake as part of a meal deal. I know a lot of previous reviewers were complaining about waiting, but the store now has a policy of getting your burgers to you within 15 minutes. I’m not sure what happens if they go over the time limit though.
FRIES – The fries were hand cut and tasted like real potato. Cooked in 100% vegetable oil, they were nice and crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. There are 3 dipping sauces available for purchase as well as various free sauces on their counter top. These fries were best eaten while warm.
TEXAN MADNESS BURGER – This burger was recommended to me by a friend and it’s probably one of the tastiest burgers I have ever eaten. The burger was a decent size such that it couldn’t stand up by itself. The meat was tender and juicy with a slight pinkish tinge in the centre. The bacon was lean and crisp, while the green chipotle pepper added real bite to the burger. The smokey barbecue sauce really combined well with all the ingredients. It was really messy to eat but in the words of Colonel Sanders, it was finger lickin’ good!
BLUE MOON BURGER – This burger wasn’t so good. The meat was well cooked, but the burger just tasted kind of bland. The walnuts, blue cheese, caramelised onion and green salad just didn’t compliment each other. The name of this burger says it all. It’s something you might have once in a “blue moon”, if ever at all!

PEACH MILKSHAKE – Their milkshakes are awesome because they use real fruit! I was even amazed at the size of the drinks. They have a range of milkshakes that use natural fruit. Definitely worth trying!
The staff here were really friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. There were quite a few people walking in and out with their take away orders. I’ve been told a majority of their burgers are really good. There were two burgers that our group had tonight that were not so good. The pricing is on par with other gourmet burger joints, but you can really taste the quality in their products here.
I like this place and I would definitely come back for their Texan Madness Burger any day!
