Fuji Sushi is a small little sushi joint close to the corner of Grenfell Street and Gawler Place. The place is indeed small as it would seat 6 people at most. The main products in this store are sushi rolls, sushi packs and cold rolls.
The decor here is kind of traditional with clever use of timber to give it that oriental feel. The staff here are friendly and barely speak a word of English, or Japanese for that matter. The two staff members behind the counter actually spoke Chinese while I was there.
Today, I ordered the Salmon and Avocado sushi. I was particularly keen on dining in so that I could have my sushi served on a wooden board. The sushi is indeed made fresh behind the counter, but the sushi I bought had been made a few hours earlier.
The rice was a bit dry, while the salmon was smoked salmon taken out of a packet. The avocado was ripe and worked well with the salmon. The seaweed on my sushi was a bit torn in the middle and around the edges. This indicates that poor quality seaweed sheets were used and the knife used to cut the sushi at its ends wasn’t sharp enough.

My sushi was good, but I’ve had better.
