Rigoni’s is Italian fine dining at it’s best. This place is really popular and the menu prices are bit higher than normal. It is only when you come here that you realise it’s actually worth paying a bit more. The decor is classical and stylish with beautiful cornices that adorn the ceilings. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is exceptional. We were even fortunate enough to have two seats looking out to Leigh Street, arguably the best seats in the restaurant.
Tonight, I ordered the Grilled Lamb Rump. The dish came out 20 minutes after ordering and all meals arrived at the same time. The meal was artistically presented and surprisingly satisfying. The lamb was lean and succulent, with a slight pinkish tinge in the middle. The zucchini, tomato and frissee salad were a perfect accompaniment to the lamb and were well seasoned. The saffron onion puree and jus were absolutely divine. I was almost licking my plate clean.

I had the perfect evening at this restaurant.
