The Highway is many things to many people. Some people go there for drinks and some for dancing. For me, I go there for the food.

From the outside, it is evident that there is plenty of parking, but the building itself is deceptively large. Facing Marion Road, you have the sports bar. As you move towards the corner of Marion Road and Anzac Highway, you have the lounge bar, which is both contemporary and chique. This then leads to an outdoor courtyard where there is another entrance that leads to the bistro.

Today, I ordered the American Style Pork Ribs. The meal arrived 15 minutes after ordering and was nicely presented. The pork was tender, meaty, and delicate, and the meat simply fell off the bone. The BBQ sauce had a nice sweetness to it but the dish as a whole wasn’t mind blowingly amazing. Better than average but not the best.

The service was good, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The Highway is hosting the Beer Craft Festival in a few weeks time, so I will most definitely be back!
