There was a group of us looking for a feed, and the only place on the Marina where food was being served at 5:30pm in the afternoon was Outback Jacks. The location is fantastic, but that’s about it. The service was below average. There was hardly anybody around whenever we needed them.
For entree, we ordered Jack’s Cheese and Chips. This is basically bacon, cheese and chips. The chips were soggy and looked as though they had been baked instead of fried. The cheese was plastic like you would get from a Singles slice. I was appalled.

For the main, I had the Fiery Red Rock Steak which I asked for it to be cooked as medium. Hidden under the fiery sauce was a medium rare steak. The cut of beef was below average, and every second bite seemed to be raw or fatty. The chips were cooked OK, and the salad was fresh. The coleslaw was nice and was probably the highlight of the dish.

I was sadly disappointed at this place. If you’re going to a steak house, you expect good steak. The service and the quality of the food weren’t the best. The atmosphere was relaxed due to where it was located, but that’s as positive as I can be. With the benefit of hindsight, we really should have waited until 6pm for the other surrounding restaurants to start serving food.
