Argentinian food coming from a truck? How could you possibly go wrong? The Chimichurri Grill is a mobile food truck that serves Argentinian food. The menu is quite basic with three possible options; Chimi Steak, Chimi Chorizo and Chimi Cheese (vegetarian option). The wonderful smells emanating from the food truck really get the stomach rumbling.
Today, I ordered the Chimi Chorizo; a chorizo sausage cut in half, grilled and then put into a long bun with roasted capsicum, provolone cheese, rocket, kewpie mayo and chimichurri sauce. The meal came about 15 minutes after ordering.
The Chimi Chorizo roll was delicious, although the sausage was a bit fatty. This was in line with what I experienced in Spain, so I’ll let that one go. The roasted capsicum and chimichurri sauce worked well as the capsicum itself is used to make the sauce. The provolone cheese was distributed unevenly, but I felt it didn’t mesh well with the other ingredients anyway. The roll itself became a bit greasy but was tasty none the less.
The beer battered fries were fantastic. Nice and crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The chimi mayo was highly addictive and was delicious when the chips were dipped into it. Like Romeo and Juliet, the sauce and the chips were made for each other.

I thought the price point for the Chimi Chorizo was comparable to dining at a restaurant at lunch time. Unfortunately, there were no chairs or seats, or waiting staff for that matter. From that perspective, I felt it was a little expensive for what you’re getting. The meal wasn’t too bad and it was quite novel to try out one of these places, but at the end of the day, I don’t think I’d be coming back any time soon.
