Lucia’s

Apparently Lucia’s is an Adelaide institution. Located in the Central Markets, this place has been around for over half a century. I’ve seen this place packed every time I’ve walked past, so it’s obvious that they’re doing something right. The decor probably hasn’t changed since it first opened, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff here are friendly and the service is good.

Today, I ordered the Ravioli Bolognese. As I sat at my table, I noticed two strands of hair on the table top. Fortunately for them I eat my meal off the plate and not off the table. My meal arrived not long after ordering. You could tell the ravioli was freshly made just by looking at the colour. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the dish was piping hot. The pasta sauce was tasty with sufficient coverage over the ravioli. As one reviewer has already suggested, the pasta sauce was indeed watery, and there wasn’t enough pasta for the price paid. I say this because my stomach is still rumbling as I write this.

Whether an institution or not, people obviously love coming here, but my dish was slightly above average and the portions did not represent good value for money.
