You don’t normally see the same cuisine offered twice in the same food court. Asian taste is one of the two stores in the Renaissance Arcade offering Vietnamese cuisine, albeit with a different menu. Competing with Zen Kitchen nearby, this store offers your traditional noodle soups, rice dishes and bread rolls. Located in a food court, the staff at this place bring the food out to you when its ready.

Today, I ordered the Grilled Pork Chop Rice. The meal came out within 20 minutes of ordering. The dish came with two large pork chops that were lean, well marinated and tasty. The pork chops were slightly charred due to the sugar content in the marinade but was still tender. The dish should have come with broken rice, but instead, came with normal rice that had been sitting in the rice cooker for some time. The fish sauce was pretty good, just like Mum makes at home.

I was quite impressed with this little takeaway store. The serving was generous and I was satisfied. This place is open for lunch everyday and for dinner on Friday nights. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.
