I’ve been to the Union quite a few times, mainly to catch up with friends for drinks. The pub is essentially made up of several sections, the bar area, a casual area turn dance floor at night, dining area and a pokies area. The decor is quite contemporary with the highlights being the fireplace and the unique bed cushioned seats. I’ve seen some of the meals here and thought they looked delicious, so today I decided to check them out.
Today, I ordered the Chicken Parmi. The meals arrived not long after ordering and at the same time. The Schnitzel was appropriately thick and cooked to perfection. The Napoli sauce had perfect coverage over the schnitzel and was rich in texture. There was sufficient mozzarella cheese on the schnitzel and it had spent enough time under the grill until it was lightly golden brown. The shoe string fries were similar to what you get at McDonald’s. While they aren’t my favourite type of fries, they were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of salt on them. The salad was fresh and had nice thick vinaigrette dressing.

I must say I was really happy with my schnitzel. Probably the best I’ve had in a long time. While it can get a bit noisy as you get closer to the bar, these guys certainly know what they’re doing in the kitchen. A good place to catch up with friends for drinks and definitely a great place to come for a feed!
