When I want to go out for cheap Italian, this place is one step up from getting Italian food at a food court. It’s probably miles behind the best Italian restaurant, but the food here is cheap and the service is usually good. I remember when this particular store was located on Pirie Street. It was still a fair walk from work, but now it’s even further. The only times I actually visit this store now is when I’m working from home.
I like the Spaghetti Bolognese, most probably because it’s better than how I make it at home (and that’s not too hard). The dish usually comes out in less than 15 minutes after ordering and is well presented. If you look closely, you can see bits of carrot and the spaghetti grade mince that they use. I might occasionally notice a bit of gristle, but that doesn’t detract from the experience. Two slices of bread are usually accompanied with the meal so no one goes home hungry.

I don’t mind this place. It’s somewhere I’d go when I’m on my own and not a bad place for a cheap, and rather healthy feed.
