For a really a cheap feed in the old Chinatown food court, you really can’t look past Shanghai Cuisine. The quality of the food here is better than some of the other stalls, and the pricing is close to as cheap as you can get.
Their best seller is the $6.50 “as you much as you can put on a plate” offer. I’ve seen couples share a single plate of food just by stacking on as much as possible. The key is to form a solid base of fried rice at the bottom of the plate. This prevents slippage from everything above. From then on, it’s a matter of stacking your food into a pyramid shape all the way to the top.
My record is 20 chicken wings and various other dishes on a plate. The key to the chicken wings is to play a game of Jenga. The wings interlock with each other to form a solid structure that doesn’t fall off the plate. The other key is to actually eating the chicken wings. If you pull out the wrong wing, all the other wings come toppling down and a serious mess is made.

For those who really want a good deal, come to this place around closing time on any afternoon. You can get the same deal for about $3. This place is certainly one of the hidden gems in the Central Market. Check it out!
