House of Chow is a good place to go for Westernised Chinese cuisine. The menu has been adapted to suit the Australian palette so you won’t be eating anything groundbreaking here. The restaurant has been around for long as I can remember and so has the menu it seems. It’s like the restaurant has been stuck in a time capsule.
I came here with a group of friends for the banquet. The service was good and the food was of an acceptable standard. While none of us left the restaurant hungry, there was just nothing memorable about the experience. The restaurant is doing something right because they’re still around after all these years, but I do feel they need a revamp to attract people other than their loyal clientele.
Overall, there are no surprises at this restaurant. It’s casual, laid back and really nothing special.
