Royal Copenhagen – Brighton

There’s nothing like a cold refreshing ice cream when you’re at the beach, well that’s what Royal Copenhagen is banking on anyway. Royal Copenhagen in Brighton is one of their four stores located in a beach side suburb. While their freshly made ice cream is their best seller, they also have a range of desserts on offer which is nicely presented in a glossy book. This includes favourites such as ice cream, yoghurt, sorbets, waffles, pancakes, donuts, crepes and fondues.

The Brighton store takes up the space of two stores. One half is the main counter area while the other is dedicated to indoor seating. On top of that, there is also additional seating out on the pavement.

In terms of seating, I’d have to say this place is on par with the Henley Beach store. There’s plenty of space for people to sit down and enjoy their desserts.

Today, I ordered 3 scoops of ice cream; Strawberry Delight, Mint and Cappuccino. The scoops were inconsistent in size but there was a fair amount of ice cream as a whole. The strawberry ice cream was the best version of this flavour that I’ve tasted. Some strawberry ice creams can taste like cough medicine which is rather off putting. The mint ice cream could have been a bit more mintier, and the cappuccino had a very strong coffee flavour.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was on par with other ice creameries. 3 scoops of ice cream will set you back $7.50 which is not too bad considering the quality of their product.
