The Little Eastern is a quaint little eatery further up Magill Road in St Morris. The name of the place has many meanings; the establishment is “little” and located in the “east”, however, the Lebanese offerings on their menu are also a reflection of the middle “eastern” influences.
There are 8 items on the all day breakfast menu. All of them except 2 are fairly standard breakfast offerings. The lunch menu is about the same size with ingredients such as tabouli, haloumi and hommus becoming more prevalent. Then they have their Manoushi, which is 9 inches in size, and comes with various toppings. They also have a cabinet full of sweets and a good selection of beverages if you’re just in here for a casual catchup.
The bright yellow signage on their front window is rather unique as it continues onto the pavement floor. The theme continues as walk inside to yellow plates and coffee machine. The use of timber inside is rather prominent, and the use of black and white is rather effective. While there isn’t much seating, it is well laid out without making customers feel to cramped.

For lunch, I had the Gourmet Sujuk Manoushi. The ingredients consisted of sujuk (Turkish sausage), mozzarella cheese, haloumi, black olives and baby spinach, which are then folded into a freshly made, lightly toasted flatbread, that is cut into 4 pieces. The ingredients were fresh and worked together quite well. The meal was light and you walked away feeling content rather than too full.

The staff here are friendly and welcoming, and the service was very good. There was even one staff member who sat down with me and ran through the concept of the store. The atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back, and the pricing was reasonable. The cost of the manoushi was $9.50 which is on par with other Lebanese places.
The steady flow of customers in and out of this store should be enough of an indication of how good this place is.
