The eastern state airports that I’ve been to have Krispy Kreme, while Adelaide Airport has Dreamy Donuts. First established in Brisbane over 8 years ago, Dreamy Donuts prides itself on using the best possible ingredients. With only one store in Adelaide, locals will have to go through a security checkpoint to get hold of their sweet treats. Many of the donuts are classics with the exception of the Tia Maria & Hazelnuts, Coffee Cream Tiramisu, Apple Crumble, Passionfruit and Rocky Road.

Today, I ordered the Rocky Road. The donut was firm on the outside, and had a light and fluffy centre. It was good, but not at the same level as a Krispy Kreme donut. The marshmallows, jellies and peanuts were nice for presentation but they didn’t really do much for the overall taste.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The cost of their donuts will vary depending on the type. Food at the airport is more than expensive than usual so it was no surprise the Rocky Road donut set us back $4.
I’ve been told by friends that the donuts at this place are quite good, however, with the one that I ordered, I just didn’t see it.
