Chocolatree

It’s been a couple of years since I last visited Chocolatree, however, it’s still in a handy location amongst other popular eateries in the area. Their dessert offerings include a small selection of ice creams, waffles, crepes, fondues as well as the sweets behind the front counter. What I haven’t noticed before is their savoury range with open sour dough toasts, quesadillas and nachos.

The interior is still pretty much how I remember it with very little change.

For dessert, I ordered the Fig and Banana Pudding. The pudding was nice and warm, and the interior was soft and moist. The butterscotch sauce was rich and decadent, and worked perfectly with the pudding. The walnut praline was crunchy and so were the walnuts inside of it. The fig and mascapone ice cream was rich and decadent, and it’s colder temperature was a good contrast to the warm pudding.

My friend ordered the Coconut Sundae. I managed to try a bit and thought it was a decent serve of rich chocolatey goodness.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was slightly above average. Both desserts were $11.90 which is still reasonable consider their serving sizes.

Chocolatree has been around for quite a number of years now and they still do a roaring trade. I’m guessing they must be doing something right.
