As you walk down Jetty Road towards the beach, the aromatic smell of waffles draws you closer and closer to Andersen’s of Denmark. Known for their award winning ice creams, the difference is their use of fresh cream and the absence of artificial flavours or colours. To complement their ice creams, they have freshly made waffle cones, as well as sundae baskets, waffles, ice cream cakes and milkshakes.

Tonight, I opted for one scoop of the their Mint Chocolate Chip and one of the Chocolate Jaffa. Each scoop was considerably generous and the challenge was to eat it without making a mess. Both flavours were delicious with wonderful crunchy chocolate bits throughout. The waffle cone was nice and crunchy, and didn’t go soggy when it came into contact with the melted ice cream.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. A single scoop in a small cone will set you back $5.50, while a double scoop in a large cone will cost you a bit more at $7.

The product quality is noticeably better and I’m surprised I haven’t been here sooner. The premium quality ice creams are worth the visit alone. My only criticism is that this place is purely take away, and there is no seating at the place to enjoy your ice cream. Having said, there is plenty of public benches in the area. This place is highly recommended.
