The Broadway Hotel is located on Broadway in Glenelg South. Away from the busy Jetty Road cafe precinct, it’s frequented by locals and nearby workers. Offering your fairly typical pub fare, I was drawn in by their lunch time specials at both the bistro and front bar sections.

The Broadway is one of the few hotels around that still retains its character. The front bar is nice and spacious, and connects to the bistro down the side. Located on a nice corner position, there is plenty of natural light flowing through it’s frontages and through the atrium in the dining area.

For lunch, I ordered the Open Steak Sandwich. The meal came out after a 15 minute wait and was nicely presented.

The steak was tender and succulent, and perfectly cooked. The tomato was fresh and the lettuce was crisp. The egg was fried sunny side up and worked well with the garlic aioli. The cheese was nicely melted on the firm and slightly crunchy bread slice. The beer battered chips were well cooked and adequately salted.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was reasonable. Lunch was $11.90 and part of the front bar weekday lunch time deal.
